Nike Cortez Series
Look on feet

The very first running shoes released by Nike were Nike Cortez. They were the reason behind Nike’s success and popularity. It was designed by Bill Bowerman around 1972 Olympics. Visibility on Olympics ground and podium was also the reason Nike Cortez soon became a worldwide phenomena. From the grounds of Olympics to the streets and tracks, Nike Cortez became immensely popular and its sale sky rocketed.

The Nike Cortez was basically designed as running shoes. It had mix-material midsole of foam. It is very durable and comfortable as it reduces the impact from running and has good health benefits on bones and muscles. It significantly reduces leg fatigue and doesn’t put pressure on knees and tendons. The designing is very minimal as it only has a large Nike swoosh on the side and some lining along the sole. Nike Cortez is elegant looking with not much going on in terms of visual impact. Initially Nike Cortez were made with leather but soon switched to nylon and suede as this made it more lightweight and comfortable.

The original Nike Cortez released were very simple and basic but the times have changed and people don’t only look for productivity but also want to have stylish footwear. Nike has launched many versions for Nike Cortez that is visually striking and a treat to eyes. Some of the recently launched Cortez includes; Nike Cortez Fly Motion is one of the newest addition to the Cortez line. These shoes come in a printed blue and royal blue colorway with a futuristic touch. Another is Nike Cortez Classic Nylon that has become very popular among the masses since its release, it comes in a Brazilian Flag themed colorway. Nike Classic Cortez TXT WMNS is a Cortez that is designed especially for women and comes in a very bright colorway of neon pink and blue.

Nike Cortez is almost a staple of pop culture and very famous among some celebrities. Singer and Rapper Kendrick Lamar is only seen wearing Nike Cortez whether it’s an event or a concert and made them quite popular in youngsters. Some other celebrities that love to wear Nike Cortez sneakers are Kristen Stewart, Shia Labeouf and Tracy Morgan.
