Nike Air Jordan 5Add to my wishlist
Look on feet
The sneakers era has just entered into nineties. The Air Jordan 5 sneakers were released in February 1990, they were designed by Tinker Hatfield. Nike Air Jordan 5 was designed very uniquely as Tinker Hatfield drew its inspiration from World War II fighter planes, the shoes were design to reflect a defensive style and Michael Jordan thought to be the pilot of these fighter planes.
Some of the main features which make Air Jordan’s 5 stand out from the rest of the Air Jordan’s and NIKE line were that for the first time in the history of Air Jordan, they had a clear outsole, one that stood out it was one of the most prominent feature and a reason for its uniqueness. For the first time in the history of Air Jordan, they had a reflective material on them that added to the appearance of the sneakers and was attractive to look at. And for the first time, they had a molded ankle collar. It also had a reflective tongue, beneath them translucent rubber soles and lace locks. These all features not only just looked good but they also had very specific functionality as well. Each and every feature was put together after many considerations and brain storming and then come the Air Jordan 5.
Michael Jordan had expressed very pleasant sentiments regarding Air Jordan 5’s durability and comfort and has them many times while playing for NBA championship.
Four models of the Air Jordan 5 were released to the public. Two models which are the Black/Black-Metallic Silver and White/Fire Red-Black had Michael Jordan’s number “23” inscribed on the side of the shoe; they were only limited to only 100 pairs each, they were given to unfortunate kids or auctioned off and the funds collected from auctions were given as charity.
Because of it huge demand and popularity, the Air Jordan 5 was released again in 2000, 2006–2009, 2011 and 2013-2016. Also new upcoming releases are expected as Air Jordan 5 is always in demand and sneaker lovers are waiting for new color ways and special editions all the year.
