When it comes to sneakers, there are only a few brands which are evergreen! The Air Force 1 was produced in 1982 by Nike but was discontinued shortly due to some reasons. It was re-released in 1986 with the italic Nike logo of a Swoosh on the bottom of the back of the shoe. It was completely revamped and modified in the new release. It was designed by designer Bruce Kilgore. Nike Air Force 1 was the first basketball shoe to use the Nike Air technology.
The name Nike Air Force is a reference to Air Force One, the plane. The Air Force 1 sneakers are sold in three different styles, low, mid and high all are different because of slight changes to its silhouette and exterior. The mid style comes with a connected strap. The high-top Air Force 1 comes with a Velcro made securable strap; the mid-top strap is secured to the shoe while the high-top's strap is movable and removable on some versions, as per the wish of the person wearing it. The Air Force 1 sneaker is perfect for basketball court as it is made or light weight material. The designers have made sure to not to compromise on the looks as well.
Air Force 1 comes in many shades and colors but the most common and most in demand are white-on-white and black-on-black Air Force 1. They are almost instantly sold out and always very much anticipated by the customers.
Air Force 1 is still used for street play as well as for professional play. NBA players Jerry Stackhouse and Rasheed Wallace have worn Air Force 1 on court many times and also performed very well while wearing them. The Air Force 1 has become a favorite of sneaker collectors that are often referred to as sneakerheads.
In 2007, for the 25th anniversary of the original Air Force 1, Nike created the Air Force XXV to honor the original Air Force 1. In 2009, Nike created Air Force 09, an update of the original shoe. The shoe comes in a solid black or white.
